The new University of Illinois Outpatient Surgery Center & Specialty Clinics consists of 205,000 sf Outpatient Surgery Center and Specialty Clinic, which holds six floors of patient care plus basement and penthouse mechanical spaces. Departments in the building include Outpatient Pharmacy, Imaging with MRI and Pet CT, Transplant Clinic, Urology Clinic, Sterile Processing, Perioperative Services with 8 ORs, and clinics for Gastroenterology (8 procedure rooms), Transplant, Ophthalmology, and Otolaryngology. A two-story bridge over Taylor Street connects this facility to the existing hospital. Building construction is a structural steel frame with an exterior of architectural precast panels and curtainwall. The joint venture team of Pepper/Brown&MomenĀ built this project for Ankura, a private developer in a Public-Private-Partnership agreement with UI Health.
